Kye's Christmas Letter

Image
I have added the Nordfelt Family 2007 Christmas letter (100% created by Kye) to the blog. Click on it and enjoy.

The Christmas Family Photos

Image
We tried to take our own pictures for Christmas with the tri-pod because we waited until the last minute. It's hard when Katelin HATES getting more than one picture taken. I forgot about that. Here is the best one of all four of us. Katelin is crying because she was squished. She wouldn't look at the camera after the first two I took just of her, so I had to follow her around and snap what I could. KC is a good for the camera. He just likes to move while shooting. A lucky shot of Katelin. We wanted Saguaros in the background, but we couldn't get a good one with just the tripod, and it started to rain. We were ready to go home.

It's Elvis Baby!

Kye competed in "The Last Talent Standing" competition for Maricopa County. He walked in with a suit and a note written on his brief case that said, "Auditor by day". Then he turned the brief case around and it said, "Auditor by night". Then he took off his jacket, tie, turned up his collar and put on the Elvis glasses. He was a hit! We'll find out who the top six contestants are in a week or two. (Sorry for the loud hollar, I forgot I was filming!) Go Kye!

Oh BOY!

Image
It's true! Another boy! Here is his sweet little face. Before she took this photo, he was chewing and then he stuck out his tongue at us. I think it was because we all thought he was a girl! We hope this doesn't offend anyone!

Lights at the Mesa Temple

Image
The lights at the Mesa temple are so beautiful! The pictures don't look really great, but we had to post some of them. It was a Kodak moment looking at Christmas lights wearing flip-flops and short sleeves. (The people in sweaters and coats thought we were crazy!) Here I am with Kye and my two mini Kye's. Let's hope this next little boy has some of me in him! As soon as KC saw the camel (behind us) he jumped over the signs that say "Don't not walk on the grass" and ran to touch the camel. He was a crazy boy. Katelin requested I take this picture of her and New Bear. Very cute. KC kept trying to jump in the water and go swimming-he was soaking wet! I love the Christmas lights in the palm trees.

Grandpa and Santa

Image
We really enjoyed Thanksgiving up in Utah. It was so nice to be up there and see how beautiful it is! We miss it. We spent a lot of time with our families and stayed really busy and sleepless. We are excited to go up again for Christmas (Well, maybe not so excited about the 12 hour drive:) Here we are with Kye's Grandpa Adair in Bountiful. He's a great guy! Kye with little Myka ! She is so cute! Santa came to my mom's house. It was a treat. The kids were excited and scared at the same time. He was great though, and eventually all the kids weren't as scared. KC and Carsen would shout out what they wanted at various times. When Carsen sat on his lap, he immediately confessed that he didn't like to sleep in his big boy bed all night. It was so cute. All the kids made their requests and we sang songs. It was a great night. KC sitting on Santa's lap...a miracle! Katelin on Santa's lap...another miracle! The kid...

Thankgiving in Utah

Image
Thanksgiving with the Nordfelt's is always so fun! After feeding 84 people dinner, we had racing games and a licorice spitting contest. There isn't a picture of the spitting contest, but I won the female contest. Kye tied for the boys. We were both very proud of each other. We were not proud of our son who ran out and ate all the licorice off the floor that everyone spit out. Carsen and KC with Grandpa getting ready to run. Carsen was a serious runner...KC started skipping! Kye and I before the three-legged race The married children race (P.S. Don't stand by a Springer EVER when racing) Kye didn't mean to, but he hit Kelly Springer thinking it was Andy, then Ben saw we were in front of him, so he grabbed onto Kye's leg trying to take us down! Both my in-laws won races, so they had a race off! Keysha and Chad won because Kirtly and Gay fell down!

Thanksgiving for Preschool

Image
In Preschool we've been learning about the American Indians, and their significance this Thanksgiving season. The kids decorated costumes, headbands, necklaces, and drums. After the two days we worked on them, we did Indian chants and dances to celebrate the harvest! The kids had a really good time, and hopefully they can remember what they learned. Now we're off to Utah!!

The Best Present Ever!

Image
Anyone who knows me well will tell you how much I love fall. I love to drive up in the mountains, take pictures of the leaves, play in the leaves, and oh the smell! I love it! Being in Arizona this fall was quite depressing! I missed every thing about Utah fall. It was really hard to be away from Utah and try to enjoy the Saguaros and scorpions that the AZ mountains offer. Last night I looked on my porch and the mail man dropped off a package from my family. When I opened it, I cried. It was the nicest thing anyone could have sent me. So thank you Mom, Dad, Mandy, Jason and Brendan! We woke up, and the kids played in them. Then I decided to share the leaves with the preschool kids today. They thought it was the coolest thing ever! Some of the kids didn't know what to think because they hadn't played in them before! (Utah, we will be coming home...I just don't know when.)

Tag

Image
I've been tagged by a couple of people so I give in! I'll do it! However, I am changing the rules. I'm only tagging one person, my sister-in-law Keysha. Everyone else has already done it! 1. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. 2. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. I love to read-a new addiction since moving to AZ. My favorite books include: "Jane Eyre", "These is My Words"and the "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" series. Then there are the loved Jane Austen books. I love to cook! I would rather cook than eat out! I know my old roommates and people that knew me in high school are all in shock right now. (Hey Janet, remember when I ate a tomato on a sandwich for the first time? I'll never forget the way yours and Karlin's face looked!) I don't...

Halloween Fun

Image
Here we are getting ready for, or at our ward's Trunk-or-Treat. Katelin had already been the black cat for three parties, so she wanted to be a fairy. She tried to get her hair just like her fairy Barbie. She looked so grown up. Kye choose his costume two minutes before we were about to leave. He did Okay...The rolled up pants really topped it off! I am a witch (minus my cape that was choking me. And you can't really see my hat either.) KC was what he called a "Super Cougar". His costume consisted of his BYU hat and super hero cape. Again, he was NOT going to wear the Spiderman costume. Katelin was dancing around like a fairy because she got "a thousand pieces of candy!" KC was so tired and grumpy, I think from all the candy on his face, and was quite mad when I took this picture coming home.

Halloween Preschool Style

Image
We had a rip-roarin' time at our preschool Halloween party. All the kids got to dress up. It was really fun. KC is just like his dad (they are so much alike!) and threw on whatever dress up item he could find at the last minute...Racquetball goggles and his favorite cape. He was NOT going to be Spiderman. KT was a black cat. She was excited about her black nose and whiskers. Here is my little class. I love it! (Notice KC's cowboy boots).

Fall in AZ

Image
Oh, fall is here! With the weather changing, we felt it was time to plant a garden! Isn't that the weirdest thing ever? We'll be eating tomatoes at Christmas! Katelin and Kye had a great time going and picking out the plants and preparing the soil. The nursery said it would all grow...we hope it will! Don't you just love this pose of Kye? He's cute. Katelin wouldn't sit close to the garden because it was in the sun and it was too hot! (It was 95 degrees on Saturday).

Katelin's many faces

Image
I am posting these pictures for several reasons. Katelin actually let me comb AND curl her hair WITHOUT screaming! Oh my heavens, I had to take a picture. She wanted to wear my reading glasses... Lisa Loeb anyone? As soon as I took one picture, she was done and wasn't happy that I took the second two. It reminded me of how she has always been so particular about pictures. Mostly she doesn't want you to take her picture unless she is in the mood. Here are some of her several "moods" from today and the past two years.
