Snake River Trip, Baby!

Image
On the weekend of July 12th, Kye and I went with his work for the annual Snake River Trip. We ran the river four times and boy was it awesome! Cold, but awesome. Did I mention that the water was freezing cold? Anyway, we are looking forward to next year! Here are some pictures taken by a guy in Kye's office. And if you look close enough, I am the one wearing the retro purple water jacket on the raft. Hey, it kept me warm and whoever said you have to be in fashion while running the river was lying...

Start Spreading the News....

I'm not leaving today, but soon. Here is the story. So in a nutshell, I have slowly started to experience the depression that comes from having three kids ages five, three and three months. Ever since we moved back from Arizona, it's been getting worse. But really, who wants to read about that? My point is that one of my best friends/roommates from college lives in NYC. I was talking to her the other night and expressed some of my feelings and we came to the conclusion that I needed to go visit her and have a girl vacation! I mentioned it to Kye and he agreed. I was thinking next spring. I got an email today and my husband surprised me with a airline ticket to go in a few weeks!! What a surprise for me! I've never been before and I am so excited! Please comment and let me know what I should do while I am there. Big Apple, here I come!!

Kanyon's Blessing

Image
We blessed Kanyon, finally ! Another month and he would have been able to crawl up to the front. No, it was just fine. However, the tuxedo was a little tight.. and short. It just adds to the memory, right? Our families came down and supported us. I am glad we didn't bless Kanyon in Arizona. We wouldn't have had nearly the support show up. We even had our best friends from Hawaii come. (Conveniently they were already here.) For some reason we couldn't get a picture with the Kongaika's after the first 100 photos were taken. Our kids refused. We'll get one Wednesday. We celebrated Kanyon by having a dinner Saturday night at Grandma Pettingill's house. We enjoyed way too much delicious food and desserts. The pool was also a treat. Thanks everyone for coming and contributing. We have such a great family. Don't forget Sara Borg who stopped by on her visit from NY. Yes, she is single and looking...

July 4th Festivities

Image
It's always a party when holidays are around. Apparently the 4th celebration lasts several days because ours is still going, but that is O.K. The Grand kids went fishing with dad, Auntie Keysha, and PA the day before. On the 4th we went to the Provo city parade, which had a float for LDSSA that had a set of stairs beginning with a boy and a girl sitting at their desk in institute then it had a couple in their wedding clothes with a temple behind them on the top. The music "Going to the temple and we're going to get married..." was playing. Only in Utah. I love it. Anyway, after the parade we went to the Freedom Festival, then we rode on the Dahmer's HUGE slip-in-slide at Kiwanis Park. That was awesome! After we went back to the Freedom Festival, then to our front yard to light legal fireworks, yes! The two little boys learned to "talk to a tree" while fishing and thought they would talk to the tree in our front yard while we were lighting fireworks. I w...

KC and Carsen - Best Friends and Cousins

Image
Ever since we've moved back, these two little monkeys, who are five days apart, have been wanting to play with each other all the time. "Kace" and "Carse" (as they call each other) have a lot of fun and most times are overly silly. I think it's silly that KC is almost a foot taller than Carsen. Maybe that is why they get along so well.
