Firsts for Katelin

Image
I am so glad that I had the camera handy to snap this picture. It was right before we headed for church. Katelin loves to button up thing up. Anyway, for the first time yesterday she got up and bore her testimony in sacrament meeting all by herself. She put on her shoes, said she was going , and went. It was so sweet. She's a sweetheart. Then today she gave a book report/presentation at school. Her first! It was so cute. She will be camping during the Kindergarten program, so her teacher let her do it today. She did it on "Pinkalicious". She made and did everything by herself. (Everything but write "Pinkalicious" in cursive. She traced it with the paint brush though.) She is a natural! Maybe she'll follow in her mom and grandparents footsteps!

Who is this?

We found these pictures of Kye at his great grandpa's house. He is the same age as Kanyon in these pictures. I can't say it enough...I give birth to mini-Kye's. They are darn cute, so I don't mind too much! Kirtly and Kye, 1981 Kye, 1981

Quick Update

Blogging isn't on my to-do-list anymore, but my mother-in-law requests updates. So here we go: Kye had a birthday on the 10th. He is 29. Are we really almost 30? My parents brought down king crab legs purchased from Costco and we had a crab fest for his dinner. His sister and family came down for dinner and dessert a few days later. Always a great time. Always too much food... I am loving our new house. It's perfect for us. It's a 2000 sq. ft. tri-level. Has a fenced backyard. I can walk to school with KT and Kye can ride his bike to work. I am also a stones throw from Costco. That isn't necessarily a good thing :) We just got Kye's Grandma's piano today, and I am looking forward to recruiting several more piano students. If you know anyone in the Orem area who is interested, let me know! Katelin is in dance class and is loving it. She is actually pretty good! Seems we found something she loves and that is important! She is growing up too fast. She pinkyswore m...

Arizona Visitors

Image
Our old Bishop and his family stopped by tonight. They are here to drop their son off at the MTC. I tell you what, these are some of the best people we know. Great to see them! When they were here, it was hard to not wish we lived in Arizona again. Maybe we'll move back! ;) Us with the McLaws from Goodyear, AZ.

Am I a Bad Mom?

Last night the tooth fairy left Katelin $3.75. The fairy realized this was a large sum but figured it was OK seeing as the money came from Katelin's piggy bank. Hey, even the tooth fairy is effected by this recession. I've never heard her scream so loud, nor been put in my place from her as I did yesterday. When the dentist was done pulling the 2nd tooth from the front, she jumped off my lap (I was holding her down in the chair) screamed she was done and told me that I lied to her. "You told me that wouldn't hurt but it did! You lied to me! I want to go home right now! Don't ever bring me back here again!!" Seriously, she said that. Over and over again while sobbing hysterically. I felt so bad. I've traumatized her. Hence the $3.75. We have now entered the crazy teeth stage. Her teeth are like mine. She's in for a long-haul!
