Kids in the Morning

Image
Who would want to wear swim trunks over their jammies to go to bed? Kanyon. Why not? These were all taken after breakfast when they were happy. :)

First Grade Field Trip

Image
I got to go with Katelin to the Hogle Zoo. I really enjoyed spending that time with her. I remember when my mom came with me to the zoo when I was in grade school. We rode the school bus together. The temperature was perfect. Great day. The new baby elephant, Zuri Michelle and me combined groups. We had five kids each. Katelin with her friends glasses on. Pretty cute!

Date Night

Image
It's been a really long time since Kye and I really went on a date. Until this date, I really didn't see Kye for 7 days. Work meetings, working Saturdays, Scoutmaster training, Young mens, young men planning. Literally, every night. So Today Kye arranged to have the kids stay at his sister Keysha's house and we went downtown and enjoyed all that temple square has to offer. We went through the museums, walked around for hours and didn't have to worry about hearing "MOM" or "Dad" for a night. It was nice. I snapped a couple of pictures while we were there.

Undying Love

Image
This little girl has a love for bears that is unreal. She is getting older and doesn't really like to play with dolls or toys anymore-she prefers crafting. However, when it comes to her stuffed bears, she's all about it. At bedtime, if there is a bear missing, she knows it. And we can't rest until its found. Each one has a name and there is a order of seniority. She always sleeps with her beloved New Bear and picks one to four extras to cuddle around her face at night. She pretty much looks like these pictures when she is sleeping. She is a true friend to these bears. She is my sweetheart.

Katelin drew this of me. It's nice to feel appreciated!

Broken Collarbone

Image
We found out at KC's Kindergarten apt that his collarbone was broken. He did it while camping two weeks ago with Kye's family. I was home with Kanyon. They went jeeping and put the three oldest kids in the back together with no seat belts. They hit a bump and collided into each other. He hurt his shoulder pretty bad. Kye thought KC had dislocated it. (Kye has done this three times) When they got home we had our Dr. friend come over and look. He couldn't find anything. He even felt the collarbone. Some days it would hurt, other days KC would be just fine! Last Monday I noticed a little knot on his bone. So when he went to his appointment, I showed the Dr. and sure enough, it was broken! KC is a tough cookie. So people, buckle up!

After Birthday Blues

Image
Kanyon cried all night after his party and had fevers. My mother called it: ear infection. It was a double ear infection to be exact. Today was bittersweet. The poor thing was miserable, but he slept all day and when he wasn't asleep he laid around. There was no coloring on the wall, no dumped out anything, no pushing of chairs to climb into the cupboards. There was no jewelry dumped out of my jewelry box. No vaseline anywhere! There weren't even toothbrushes and toothpaste on the floor! However nice it was to have a day off of constant Kanyon clean-up, it is nice to have a little, happy, vivacious boy back! Now I am off to clean his masterpiece on the family room wall. (No matter how hard I try to put them up, he ALWAYS finds a colored pencil or crayon! You should see the computer screen I am looking at right now!! Bring on baby #4!)

Kanyon is Two!

Image
Kanyon is two now and he knows it! I think he opened a little attitude mixed with some sass this morning. He got a three-wheeled scooter. He couldn't be happier! Later we had a delicious meal and celebrated four birthdays at the Peck's. Two of them, and two of us all have birthday's the same week. (Great planning, I know!) I can't believe my baby is two!!! Kanyon's statistics at age 2: Weight: 25.13 lbs     16% Height: 35.25 in        81% BMI: 14.22              1.3%

My Katiebug Turns 7!!

Image
Today my sweetie turned 7. She woke up to her enormous donut that Kye has made tradition. Then she opened some presents. Her favorite was her jump rope. She jump roped 1,000 times today. I promise. Then we had a small bear party. The girls made a bear, played pin the nose on the bea,r and then acted like wild animals outside. So fun! Here are the crazy party girls! I had to post pictures of Katelin's past 7 birthdays. She is just so cute. 1st Birthday 2nd Birthday 3rd Birthday (I had to put this because this was SO Katelin when she was three!) 3rd Birthday (smiling) 4th Birthday 5th Birthday 6th Birthday 7th Birthday Thanks Meilani for telling me about Sticky Mosaics at Michaels. It was a hit!!

One Year Ago Today...

Image
I was in Oxford England touring the very place where they film Harry Potter. Later in the day I was in Stratford-Upon-Avon pondering in the same home Shakespeare grew up in. Then we traveled on to Anne Hathaway's cottage (Shakespeare's wife) and drank cider in her beautiful garden. Such beautiful scenery. Such a memorable vacation. And now a year later I am in my house in Orem, Utah. Nothing too exciting going on. Just trying to find the top of the piles of all the messes that need cleaning. I can't keep up with my kids these days! Especially when it always seems I need a nap! However, I got an email from what to expect.com and it told me that I am going to feel better in about four weeks. Yes! Something to look forward to!! Keysha and I in front of Christ's Church in Oxford. Muggles in the dining hall. Famous HP stairs Shakespeare's home. Anne Hathaway's cottage. Love the thatched roofs. Love the beautiful gardens. Loved this vacation!
