Another Week.

Image
I am KC's room mom, and we had to make posters for our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.  I had a lot of fun doing this!  Thank goodness for Pinterest!  Katelin has a report due next week on The Rain forest.  She insisted on getting it done this weekend.  She typed up the report, all by herself, for 3 hours.  Then I helped her make this project to display at the Ecosystems open-house at school.  She is a hard worker. She was cracking the whip and wouldn't change her focus until it was done.  She wouldn't let me have a break! It was Keaton's first official day to go to Nursery!  I don't know what made me happier, the thought of going to Sunday School and Relief Society or hearing my child scream "All Done!!" repeatedly while sitting in the chapel.  My neighbor told me I should be real proud of him, because not many kids can scream at that intensity.  His blanket calmed him down and I was able to enjoy my meetings....

At the Cabin

Image
It was frigid this weekend at the cabin. Saturday we just hung out, read books and rode the 4-wheeler's. Kanyon was big enough to learn to ride the 4-wheeler by himself. Keaton was all smiles the entire weekend!

Corona Arch Hike, Moab

Image
What a perfect day for a hike! The temperature was in the 60's and overcast. We made it back to the car before the storm blew in. Beautiful, beautiful! Here are the 5 big kids climbing up a steep part. Kanyon was insistent on doing everything himself because he was a "big boy now because I am 4" He scared all of us, and while Kye was snapping this picture, I ran to be at his side. Notice Paul Bunyans toilet in the background. Keaton was so glad when we let him down. He just loved throwing the dirt and crawling around. He was a little too timid to walk around. I'm glad. Keaton was so happy to walk, and would have walked back to the car if we let him. He was pretty upset when Kye carried him the rest of the way. Beautiful, Beautiful!!

Kanyon is 4!

Happy Birthday to my sweetheart! How convenient that play-group was on his birthday. So I told him that he was going to have a friend birthday party at the park. We took cookies and treat bags to share with his friends at his "party". So glad all of his friends were there. He wore his blue birthday pin with pride. This boy is super awesome! Stats for Kanyon at age 4 Weight: 35.7 lbs      49% Height: 40.25 in.      50 % BMI: 15.5               45%

Katelin's Birthday and Easter

Image
Katelin turned 9 on Easter this year! We love our little bug. She woke up and unwrapped her American Doll that she has been patiently waiting for. She earned $82 of the dollars it cost to buy her. When she has a goal, she goes for it! We had pinata's at Grandma and Grandpas. The little boys loved them. Although it isn't Kanyon's birthday until Wednesday, he thinks today was his birthday. He told me, "Mom, you can call me the Birthday Boy." Keaton loved trying to hit the pinata with the bat Grandma Pettingill made Katelin a bed for her doll. Along with 10 outfits, including this matching pj set for her and her doll. My mom is amazing. Here is Katelin with both set of Grandparents. She is really lucky to have these four people in her life!

The Past Two Weeks...

Image
We celebrated Katelin's birthday at school. Kanyon got to be there. Keaton is a Daddy's boy and prefers self-feeding. Otherwise, he hits the spoon out of your hand. So self-feed he does. Who doesn't love a sense of independence? Kye dislocated his shoulder playing basketball. Katelin got a hamster. She named him Hermi. We finally finished our tile floor. We had help from some amazing people. We couldn't have done it without them.

Reading and Art

Image
My hard work payed off people! I have been trying to read to this kid since he was born. Keatonas never shown any interest because he would rather be "doing" than "sitting". For about a month now he has started to really love being read to. This week I found him chilling on the couch "reading" to himself. I love little readers! Katelin is always creating. Here she was drawing a picture of what her birthday party is going to be like. Her birthday is Easter Sunday this year and so an Easter party we will be having. She can sit for hours and color, craft, glue, create, whatever. She loves it!

Post Of The Week (POTW)

Image
I am going to start posting Every Saturday evening that I am home. I will call it the Post of the Week. This week is about Keaton. It seems to be a lot about Keaton lately. He is loud and proud. The ruler of the roost. I had a friend convince me to start teaching him a few signs so we could communicate. What a miracle! My poor little boy was starving to death apparently. His favorite thing to sign is "More" "food" all day long. His screaming has gone down enormously. Thanks to my mother for finally convincing me to flick his cheek when he did it. The screaming was way too much to handle. But, now that we are communicating well with the signs and flicking, we are seeing so much more happiness come from this kid! I can only imagine the money spent on food for him as a teenager!! He scrunches his nose a lot and makes silly noises. He is such a ham! The book under the bench is his favorite. He hums the song, "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see...

This past month

Here is a short and sweet post. Here I am with KC and Katelin on New Years eve just before midnight. It's the first time I have ever let me stay up that late. It's the first year they asked if they could. So fun! It was also KC's 7th birthday. He loves that his birthday is one big party around the world. Little Keaters is into everything and thinks he rules the roost. Here is KC on the morning of his birthday. He is playing with his new toy from cousin Carsen Peck. Here is my mini mama with Keat-Keat. Here is Keaton doing what he does best. Keeping my heart rate up!!

Merry Christmas!

Does anyone even look at this anymore? Just curious.

4th of July fun

Image
This is one evening of many enjoying fireworks. That small firework was too intense for KC and Kanyon. Kanyon had to watch from inside.

Moab with Friends

Image
We went to Moab with the Reeds, Tuckers and Jorgensens. It was so fun. We stayed at the Nordfelt cabin. We hiked the Firey Furnace in Arches, and played in the power dam. The next day we hung out at the cabin and shot guns like true mountain men. This is going to be a yearly tradition!

BYU basketball camp

Image
These two cousins went to Cougar camp. They loved it and both think that they are "so good" at basket ball. They are 5 days apart. Kanyon, KC, Keaton and Carsen

Winner!

Katelin won 1st place in the 50 yard dash against all 2nd grade girls. It's the long legs!
