Reading and Art

Image
My hard work payed off people! I have been trying to read to this kid since he was born. Keatonas never shown any interest because he would rather be "doing" than "sitting". For about a month now he has started to really love being read to. This week I found him chilling on the couch "reading" to himself. I love little readers! Katelin is always creating. Here she was drawing a picture of what her birthday party is going to be like. Her birthday is Easter Sunday this year and so an Easter party we will be having. She can sit for hours and color, craft, glue, create, whatever. She loves it!

Post Of The Week (POTW)

Image
I am going to start posting Every Saturday evening that I am home. I will call it the Post of the Week. This week is about Keaton. It seems to be a lot about Keaton lately. He is loud and proud. The ruler of the roost. I had a friend convince me to start teaching him a few signs so we could communicate. What a miracle! My poor little boy was starving to death apparently. His favorite thing to sign is "More" "food" all day long. His screaming has gone down enormously. Thanks to my mother for finally convincing me to flick his cheek when he did it. The screaming was way too much to handle. But, now that we are communicating well with the signs and flicking, we are seeing so much more happiness come from this kid! I can only imagine the money spent on food for him as a teenager!! He scrunches his nose a lot and makes silly noises. He is such a ham! The book under the bench is his favorite. He hums the song, "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see...

This past month

Here is a short and sweet post. Here I am with KC and Katelin on New Years eve just before midnight. It's the first time I have ever let me stay up that late. It's the first year they asked if they could. So fun! It was also KC's 7th birthday. He loves that his birthday is one big party around the world. Little Keaters is into everything and thinks he rules the roost. Here is KC on the morning of his birthday. He is playing with his new toy from cousin Carsen Peck. Here is my mini mama with Keat-Keat. Here is Keaton doing what he does best. Keeping my heart rate up!!

Merry Christmas!

Does anyone even look at this anymore? Just curious.

4th of July fun

This is one evening of many enjoying fireworks. That small firework was too intense for KC and Kanyon. Kanyon had to watch from inside.

Moab with Friends

Image
We went to Moab with the Reeds, Tuckers and Jorgensens. It was so fun. We stayed at the Nordfelt cabin. We hiked the Firey Furnace in Arches, and played in the power dam. The next day we hung out at the cabin and shot guns like true mountain men. This is going to be a yearly tradition!

BYU basketball camp

These two cousins went to Cougar camp. They loved it and both think that they are "so good" at basket ball. They are 5 days apart. Kanyon, KC, Keaton and Carsen

Winner!

Katelin won 1st place in the 50 yard dash against all 2nd grade girls. It's the long legs!

It was a miracle we got any shots. I can't think of anything that is more frustrating then family photo shoots. Next time...

Some pictures from Moab

Kye went with the two older kids camping over spring break. The Jeep only seats 5, so I had to stay home with the little boys-or drive by myself to the cabin.... My parents were so nice and decided to go to the cabin and drove my van for me!! My niece Reba came. She is a sweetie. We went Jeeping through "Hell's Revenge". Thankfully, there are no broken collar bones to report (KC broke his last year Jeeping). It was so fun. I hated going home. I forgot all about my worries and duties for a few days. It was awesome. My favorite part was staying up chatting with the adults and playing the dice game "greed". I have a great family!
